"They are my safeguard." That's what the French means in this antique holy card from the late 1800s. It's the Hearts of the Holy Family. It is rare in that it includes the Chaste Heart of Joseph. Even today, this is quite uncommon. We feel it is a great reminder that, as a family, their hearts were united in love. For us, we can feel the warmth represented in this holy card. It helps us imagine the Holy Family and their warm embrace.

The publisher was Emile Bouasse, and his partner was Louis Jeune. We think this card is from about 1875. It was made with chromolithography, a beautiful process, new at the time, to mass produce color-rich images. For us, it's kind of like Technicolor movies, which we love. There's nothing quite like the quality of that look and color.

Looks great in a den or office, or even a kitchen, or anywhere you'd like a reminder of the presence and protection of those that love us most, of all three members of the Holy Family.

** IMPORTANT ** The image is smaller than the paper!!!!! There is a white border around the image, about 1/2" on 5x7 and about 1.3" on 8x.5x11. The white border gives the print a finished look, and looks good framed without a matt.
